Francesco D. Busnelli (Fribourg,1935) is professor emeritus of Civil Law at School of Advanced Studies at University Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa where he held the position of Chancellor from 1984 to 1993.
Full Professor of Law at University of Teramo from 1964 to 1971, at University of Pisa from1971 to1983 and from 1983 at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
Honorary Professor at Universidad San Marcos in Lima.
Visiting Professor at Yale Law School in 1987 and in 1995, in 1993 he was in Belo Horizonte University (Brazil)and at University of Fribourg (Switzerland) in 2005.
He lectured on Civil Law in Bogotà, Buenos Aires, Burgos, Coimbra, Gottingen, Lyon, Paris 1, Beijing, Coimbra, San José de Costarica, Zaragoza, Stockolm and Tilburg.
Member and Vice-President of Law and Political Sciences Committee in Rome National Research Council (CNR) from 1976 to 1988; Member of Standing Committee for Social Sciences and of Steering Committee for Comparative Law of European Sciences Foundation (ESF) in Strasbourg from 1982 to 1987; member of National Council of Bioethics from1998 to 2006; member of ISVAP (National Committee for Private and Public Insurance) Board of Directors from 2001 to 2005; expert member of European Group of Ethics and New Technologies (EGE) in Bruxelles from 2007 al 2010.
