Andrea is a PhD Candidate at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Italy. Andrea’s PhD proposal deals with the regulation and civil liability in the European market for unauthorised, yet lawful uses of drugs in Italy and France. To develop his thesis, he conducted research at the École normale supérieure and at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris. He is also a former Intern at the WHO European Office for Investment for Health and Development (Venice, Italy), where he carried out investigations and provided legal and policy advice on trade and health issues. His research interests cover the grey areas of the EU pharmaceutical and vaccine sector, assessing how civil liability and competition law can play a role in tackling scientific uncertainties, along with several issues of law and technology (algorithms, AI, and 3D printing).
